2D Animation App
Today we are going to talk
about an animation app. That is the Pencil2D app.
I would love to talk to you
about free and open-source apps through this blog. Pencil2D, an app created in
2005 for 2D animation and digital drawing, is very simple and easy to learn. It
supports Windows, Mac, Linux, and UNIX operating systems.
The copyright for Pencil2D
belongs to Patrick Corrieri and Pascol Naidon. Matthew Chang and others have
worked as developers.
Pencil2D is an app with a GNU
general license. This has been updated for the last time on February 21, 2021.
Pencil2D is developed using C++ and Qt.
Now let's talk about the
interface of the app and how it works.
As said above, this has been
designed in a user-friendly manner. An important aspect of this is that even if
it is a small app, some of the features found in professional apps have been
included. That is the onion skin option and the colour inspector option. You
also have the ability to select colours by hexadecimal values. Another feature
worth talking about is the timeline window. It consists of 3 layers: bitmap,
vector, and camera. If you want to add more layers, you can easily do that too.
Talking about the tool box, there are 12 tools in it. (Clear frame, pencil
tool, eraser tool, select tool, move tool, pen tool, hand tool, polyline tool,
paint bucket tool, eyedropper tool, brush tool, smudge tool) 🔧
You can also import another
drawing or vector file. There are several ways to save your animation.
Type Image: PNG, JPEG, BMP,
TIFF
Type of video: AVI, MP4, WebMD,
GIF, APNG
